Chasing celebrities

Unknown to some, there is an unpublished competition happening amongst some of the (mostly female) TT marshals.  The goal? To get as many signatures of celebrities (mainly past and present riders) on your marshal’s tabard as possible. I find chasing celebrities rather embarrassing, but my competitive streak helps me swallow my pride. At the time of writing this it is 64 days to go till the 2018 TT. Two nights ago I attended the marshals’ social night where John McGuinness (winner of 23 TT races, second only to the great Joey Dunlop, who won 26) was one of the guest speakers, he has already signed my tabard so I didn’t have to do the embarrassing thing!

The following night I went to the official TT press launch and met Australian Norton rider and 2018 Senior Classic TT winner Josh Brookes. It wasn’t too embarrassing, he was really friendly and interested in the move over as he is aiming to move to the island too. Wants to see Charlie’s bikes when they get here too. His handlebar mo is the talk of the town! Thank you to his fiancee for taking this picture:
